Rock Ness - Scotland’s Rock Festival

Scotland’s annual rock festival, Rock Ness, is scheduled for the weekend beginning 12th of June just south of Inverness. But that isn’t all the news on the subject…

With the modern tendency for artists to infuse rock and dance music together in individual songs, it has noticeably influenced festival line-ups all around the globe. Rock Ness is no exception, showing more Dance music artists than ever before, including Pete Tong, Rob Da Bank, and of course The Prodigy.

Personally I’m partial to a bit of Dance music in my life, and at a festival I’d be happy as long as the acts are as energetic and ‘live-band-esque’ as Basement Jaxx. It does however beg the question of where the more narrow minded folk will have to go in future if the merge continues.

On the rock side of things, we have Biffy Clyro and The Flaming Lips… from experience I know that The Flaming Lips are good and Biffy Clyro are worth seeing. So even if you don’t fancy putting your fishes in some cardboard boxes to the tune of some old skool techno, you’ll probably still get your moneys worth out of this festival.

Either way, check the line-up for yourself by visiting RockNess.co.uk and see what you think, looks pretty promising to me.
